@SEichenstein @nytimes I do think kids who go to any kind of school in the USA should be taught English. It seems most of the yeshiva grads do know English, though. Yes there's room for improvement- but there are kids graduating from traditional public schools functionally illiterate in any language — PolitiTweet.org

@SEichenstein @nytimes Not an expert on this subject but had the same impression of the article. It sounds like the yeshivas do provide a rigorous education, just not the kind that NYS tests for. @nycexpatmom @SEichenstein @nytimes I def agree that every kid needs to be taught English to have a chance to succeed in any career they might choose in the future. That was a fair criticism raised by NYT. But some of that report was unfair, e.g. complaining that teachers in yeshivas aren't allowed to talk politics — PolitiTweet.org
