I wasn’t pressing for a new Queen’s Speech, but perhaps we ought to bear in mind that the prorogation announced will mean just 5/6 fewer Commons sitting days because we normally break for the three week conference season anyway. — PolitiTweet.org

I welcome the review into HS2. It’s v expensive (with costs probably spiralling), is no longer about speed, but capacity (more needed, but can be provided differently), and will not help many of my constituents. The money can be better spent on other projects — PolitiTweet.org

Jacob is right. Party conferences have already been arranged because the Commons is always on recess for 3 weeks from mid-Sept. We are therefore only losing about 5/6 sitting days because of this move. That’s hardly a “constitutional outrage” — PolitiTweet.org
