I do not "love" animals (whatever that might mean). Neither am I a rights activist for homo sapiens. Yet, I've been vegan for nearly 5 years now. I simply find it hard to accept - both emotionally and intellectually - the *suffering* we're causing to animals. I want to opt out. — PolitiTweet.org

I also know lots of people deeply engaged fighting for rights of various (homo sapiens) minorities: women, LGBT, refugees, non-whites, etc. Most of these people don't seem to see analogies with veganism. I find this position surprising. — PolitiTweet.org

@azonenberg Yes, indeed. If I absolutely needed meat, I'd rather go hunt for it myself than buy it in a supermarket. That, I think, would be less cruel. It still would be wrong and hard to justify. Maybe less cynical and hypocritical though. — PolitiTweet.org
