@wrmkay Did Victorians ever paint directly on to plaster walls? In my Mum’s flat there are no layers of paper, sadly. Each decorator stripped back to bare plaster. That’s unpainted apart from dado varnish which may have seeped through. By contrast woodwork & cornicing thick with paint. — PolitiTweet.org
