This is a bit technical, but the individual mandate is not actually "gone." Rather, the penalty for violating the mandate has been set to $0. Its continued existence at a $0 level is a key issue in the Republican lawsuit to get the whole law overturned as unconstitutional. — PolitiTweet.org
