So I'm actually going to write more about this next week, however for now: while crime is up in New Orleans, especially carjackings, its also up through much of the country. so it's not a unique problem. I don't personally think its any more or less unsafe to come for carnival — PolitiTweet.org

aside from COVID concerns, of course. and i think while there's plenty of folks genuinely concerned about violence in our city, these sorts of posts can smack of the kind of racist garbage people throw at Mayor Cantrell, DA Williams and other Black leaders in New Orleans — PolitiTweet.org
