and, at least economically, recolonized Iran. It was an ugly betrayal of a movement and a people who were natural allies to the US and who looked to us as an inspiration. Obviously, there’s a lot more to this, and Mossaddegh wasn’t a saint. I’d urge reading this history — PolitiTweet.org
