I think there was a sort of vague idea in media circles a decade ago that "the internet," with its irreverence/humor/skepticism of authority, would naturally replace dying alt-weeklies. But what was actually lost was the pairing of that sensibility *with aggressive reporting* — PolitiTweet.org
