Having children in our society is so expensive and you can’t plan for all potential factors anyway (What if a child has special needs? What if a parent is laid off or gets sick or worse?). I was embarrassed to be having a baby before I felt stable and could afford childcare - but we had a home and health insurance, so we sorta figured out the rest (lots of juggling work schedules).
