Similarly never say "gays" to refer to a group/demographic of gay people. ”Lesbian” is different—that's a noun & "lesbians" is the correct plural — PolitiTweet.org

Fyi "transexuals" is often considered a slur, & inaccurate for 2 reasons: it's is about gender, not sex, so it's #transgender not "transsexual."
