I didn't confirm the statistic in time to use it in the article, but the early 2000s, former Soviet nuclear warheads supplied the absolute majority of the fuel used in US commercial reactors. The statistic was hard to confirm because utilities worried it might frighten consumers — PolitiTweet.org
