@paulbloomatyale I'd also say that a strict liability or negligence standard tends to apply when we're talking about crimes with obvious and extreme harms. When we're talking about verbal statements/miscues, it's truly difficult (and immoral, I'd argue) to simply ignore intent. — PolitiTweet.org
