@Joshua_A_Tait One other thing on this topic. It's the reason Harvard Law Professor Laurence Tribe was never nominated by a Democratic president for a Senate-confirmable position. Would have been a natural for SCOTUS, attorney general, etc. But he testified against Bork in the 1987 hearings. — PolitiTweet.org
