I'm late to this, but Bay Area Californians who have been on a national ticket could include Hiram Johnson. TR's 1912 Progressive Party running mate, was then CA governor and a future senator. Earlier was assistant DA in San Francisco, and active in reform politics. @mattizcoop — PolitiTweet.org
