@Vinncent @HeerJeet The corollary is that even once we realized we were losing, we delayed withdrawing for fear of “losing credibility” in Soviet eyes. Soviet archives later revealed this was baseless. But same credibility concern brought up to justify every military action since. — PolitiTweet.org
