It is unusual for a judge to dismiss it (take it away from the jury) but not unheard of…but I have never seen it done during deliberations when the jury could hear the judge’s opinion as they apparently did here. — PolitiTweet.org

@greta If he were going dismiss, shouldn't it have been prior to sending the jury out to deliberate. Seemed pretty sleezy to me.
