So if you average the Democratic and Republican figures on media trust, you get 41.5 percent — only 5.5 points higher than the independent figure in the actual survey! This would suggest the vast bulk of independent views on the media are explained by "leaner" partisanship. — PolitiTweet.org

Am I sure this explanation is right? No, of course not. I'm not an expert on media trust. But I am 100 percent confident that data on independents doesn't allow you to dismiss partisanship. Saying so suggests you don't know literally the first thing about US public opinion. — PolitiTweet.org
