Bottom line on these 7-2 SCOTUS decisions: Trump cannot be an autocrat who just says no to subpoenas from Congress and local DAs. But he can argue the particulars of individual subpoenas, and now these requests for his financial records & tax returns go back to lower courts. — PolitiTweet.org

SCOTUS, with a 7-2 vote, punts on the congressional subpoenas. Trump cannot just say no to congressional subpoenas. But the lower courts have to review the congressional requests with more scrutiny. So this will have to go through more court rounds. https://t.co/IHqMQsAxwn — PolitiTweet.org

Trump is taking the SCOTUS decisions as a loss. He did lose legally. SCOTUS said you're not king & are accountable to the law. But SCOTUS sent cases back to lower court & it's unlikely they will be resolved & financial info released before the election. So Trump won logistically. — PolitiTweet.org

Courts in the past have given “broad deference”. BUT NOT ME!
