@mattyglesias I agree that we often use "democracy" colloquially as a stand-in for *the system we have*. But then, people characterize aspects of the system we have, like the Electoral College or the Senate or unelected judges making rulings, as threats to democracy, so things get confusing. — PolitiTweet.org
