@UOJim This is a bit far afield from Beto, but I’ll say that I’ve often reflected, as a lifelong Westerner, on Spain as a mother country, and California as its own society not just from 1776 to 1850 but even after statehood, before the transcontinental railroad — PolitiTweet.org
