Seeing a lot of claims that if we'd just promised Ukraine would not join NATO, this attack could have been avoided. I don't buy it. Ukraine in NATO, though vaguely once promised, was not currently on the table. Putin wanted Ukraine back and always had. — PolitiTweet.org
