Google will only keep contents of messages until they're delivered. Also committed to keeping metadata on its servers temporary. Still: end-to-end encryption would be better. — PolitiTweet.org

I imagine Google will have lots of arguments to say that it's not a problem for it to offer RCS services to everybody. 1. Opt-in. 2. It's just implementing the GSMA spec. 3. It tried very hard to get carriers to do it themselves. 4. It will let any carrier take over RCS. — PolitiTweet.org

Anyway, it is all very interesting and I'm annoyed that we still have to wait for the rollout to finish, and again, there's no timeline for US customers. But now instead of pestering AT&T or Verizon or whoever, you can pester just one company: Google. — PolitiTweet.org
